2020 Crane Haul Out.

The fall crane haul out overall was very successful, there was high water at the docks, safely was always kept in mind,  and social distancing,  New for this year was an expanded layout for winter storage. Some boats left on land from the spring launch were repositioned.

Clubhouse & Yards Improvements.
Are We Expanding? Well Yes!

In the fall of 2020, the Parks and Recreation Division of the City of Sault Ste Marie, made road improvements for Bellevue Park. In doing so has changed the Lake Street south end roadway entrance to the park's waterfront. The new entrance extends Lake Street further south and then curves alongside of the Algoma Sailing Club property to the waterfront. The Park has also downsized the size of its work compound for recycling and storage thus freeing up land.

This is great news for Algoma Sailing Club as this improvement has expanded greatly increased (doubled) the size of our property that we can now use. All the old fencing and ASC Signage were removed by the city and new fencing with a new gate will be soon installed. The Masts Racks were relocated, and the 2020 crane haul out made use of this new area by placing boat within, freeing up space along the waters edge, allowing for even more boats to be winter stored in the future.

To better our clubhouse and keep it looking prime, in the fall of 2019 we saw allot of activity, as new siding was applied to the building walls, and the upper deck was completed. and the roof re-shingled.

In addition, each year, one of the docks is usually scheduled for maintenance or a rebuild to ensure the reliability and for future growth of new members.
